On Wednesday I decided to treat myself to a few art supplies. My next Udemy course is in oils. I have a few ancient ones that seem to still be in working order, but I needed a few more colours, linseed oil and gesso. I also fancied a new A3 art pad.
When I was at school we used A3 all the time. Whenever we were given a new project title we were expected to do a whole lot of prep work. Lots of colour studies and sketches, making copious notes. I never understood the point of it as I usually had an image in my head of my final piece straight away. Now, thirty years later I find myself wanting to make copious notes, planning colours and choosing paper sizes and such. LOL I finally understand why we need prep work!
I ordered some things from Amazon and then went to HobbyCraft for a look around. There selection is a little limited but in a pinch I think you could get whatever you needed there. I was so pleased with myself for getting away with not spending a fortune. There is no question, art is an expensive hobby.
